Malika Bagai Designer, Co-Founder & Fashionpreneur, of Memsahib based in Kensington, London
Malika Bagai has a long standing relationship with fashion having learnt to sew at the Royal School of Needlework at aged 8 and later did her Foundation Course in Art & Design at Chelsea Art College, specializing in Fashion Textiles. The course was finished off with a fun fashion show in which she got her friends to model!
Her capsule collection was inspired by Gianni Versace’s famous fashion moment with supermodels Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangalista on the catwalk.
Malika also studied at London College of Fashion doing Product Development for the Fashion Industries.
London College of Fashion helped to greatly shape her evolution into fashion, spending endless days in the library with great fascination of the global industry as well as drawing inspiration from her favourite futuristic club-wear designer, Daniel Poole, whom she met in person years later at his residence through a friend and enjoyed showing him some of her designs.
Malika’s fashion forcasting designs and mood board she created for Armani in a project, was chosen to be displayed in the college exhibition along with one other student out of the whole year.
She thoroughly enjoyed learning about trends such as ‘Future Verses The Environment’ and can still see the relevance in the industry today.
